PM: The Cambodian People's Party Will Maintain, Protect and Build a Stable Homeland

PHNOM PENH: July 1st 2023, marks the beginning of the campaign season for the 7th National Assembly general election, which will be held on July 23. The Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) hosted a rally in Phnom Penh’s Diamond Island to inaugurate their campaign and celebrate their 72nd anniversary.

Speaking at the event, CPP President, Prime Minister Hun Sen, promised that his party will continue to protect and build a loving homeland for longevity, stability and prosperity. He said that he was extremely proud of the 40 years since the fall of the Khmer Rouge, where people joined forces with the CPP to overcome Cambodia’s obstacles and lead it from devastation to development. "This is a great change for the Kingdom of Cambodia that the CPP brings to the people; a historical fact that no one can deny," he said.

He emphasized that during the 6th legislature of the National Assembly, the Royal Government, led by the CPP and himself, firmly defended peace, stability, security and social order, which ensured a peaceful life for the people.

The PM said that the CPP is committed to maintaining the achievements of the nation forever, without allowing any reactionary power to destroy it. At the same time, the party will continue to build a nation that is a progressive, civilized, and loving example in the region. He promised there will be no internal divisions like the country experienced in the past.
